What sorts of things are you doing over the holidays?
I am terrible at keeping up with school dates now that my sons have moved on into work and other study but I was looking through some papers and came across brochures I had collected of places I still haven’t visited and then I started to look on event sites to see what else is going on. I thought I would share some things with you and invite you to add some things you know of that you can share with the rest of us.
I want to visit Craft World at some time. I phoned them up and they told me you could spend hours looking at the crafts people around NZ have made. It would also give some ideas.
Wow! look how big it is. Admission is free and you don’t have to buy anything.

Another place is the Huia Settlers Museum You pay by donation which I guess helps keep the place going and it is open on Sundays from 1.30pm – 4.30pm.
Oh, but what about a Chocolate Museum. Has a cost though and is in Napier. Admission Charges: Adults $8, Seniors $7, Children $5 & Family pass $22.
In fact, this site lists Museums all around NZ. Well worth a visit to see what’s in your area. All you have to do is type in an area in the search box.
…………
Another thing I think would be great to visit is Motor Museum Model World. It looks quite big yet I have heard it takes an hour and a half to see it all. There is nowhere to buy lunch so you need to take a picnic and eat at the picnic tables or on the grass somewhere. $15 for adults, Children ( 10 to 14 years), $10.00, Children ( 4 to 9) $1/year, Children ( 3 and under) Free.
…………..

The Waitakere Tramline is always popular with little ones. We have done that each year at single parents. Also costs. Adult $10, Children (5 – 15) $5.00, Preschoolers Free.
It is a neat ride and you get to walk to the top of the damn when it arrives at the end. Oh, it takes you back to the carpark BTW.
