being a father of two that has always paid his child support I fully support woman that don’t recieve anything from their partners. However I have a very big “BEEF” about woman who steal too much child support for themselves and don’t give to the kids. I was last year paying $1500 per month for my one child. How I know that it was far too much as a friend of mine has one child and only gets hardly enough to feed her child. Some children get more than others. Crazy system. Also my child was booted out by her mum when he turned 19 because the child support run out. My son lives with me now and he doesn’t cost anywhere near this amount to care and look after. This amoutn was merely an over payment for my ex’s drinking fund. Why does a kid in Linwood chch only get say $25 per week and my son worth $250 per week . They are both kids and have the same stomach size and clothes to wear. Child support needs a massive overhaul. I could write a book on it and have the right as i have seen and heard it all. My heart goes out to the children that don’t get anything or hardly enough to eat etc but not to all the greedy mothers that prey on their ex’s just becuase they happen to get off their butts and have a nice income. Get real all you woman. But fight on those who are under paid.
hi jim, im a mother of two lovely girls, i have supported my two girls for the last 7 years alone. I ask what about the fathers that are fiddling their emormous incomes so that they are only paying the minimum in child support which is not enough to support one child let alone two, my girls father is self employed and takes large amounts of cash through his business and declares very little to IRD, so gets away with paying the minimum amount, $62 a month, for two kids. I have been through about 3 or 4 child support reviews now and it so has been such a waste of time, the IRD, are not concerned with what i have to say about this, or are they prepared to look into what i have told them about my exs income, seems to me they just dont want to know, so i have given up now, i dont get any child support any more, it is just not worth the hassel, i felt like i was beating my head against a brick wall and getting nowhere, with no one listening to me, their father continues to rip the IRD off, and lives a very good life, buying property , building a new home for him and his new wife, while i struggle alone to raise my kids the best i can. after 21 years of marriage, it just doesnt seem fair to me. I think the whole family court system and child support leave alot to be desired and need a complete overhaul, the whole system sucks and people have no idea what its like until they have to go through it themselves. Good on the fathers that are paying the correct amount, they are wonderful fathers for doin that, but i also cannot agree with women ripping off their exs for large amounts of money to use for themselves, my girls got all the money that their father ever paid, it was used for them. I am not one of those mothers that used it for herself.
