This is just a bit of useful information to save you money on dental bills if you live in Auckland.

If you don’t have dental cover or are not wealthy you can pay just $40 at Green Lane Hospital in Auckland + $6 parking. This does not include fillings but below are other dentists that do.

This is the catch.

Park your car opposite Green Lane hospital entrance (at lights) where it only costs $6 for the day instead of $3 an hour in the hospital car park. (Ellerslie Racecourse side) Get there at around 6.30 in the morning.

Wait outside the main entrance of the hospital till the doors open at 7am.

Go to the lifts on the left just past information desk. Take lift to floor 1 and turn left. You will have to wait outside the doors on first floor till they open at 7.15am.

They will only take the first 20 adults. For children you can turn up at anytime. They take preference over adults.

If you don’t have the $40 there and then you will be invoiced. Take this to WINZ or pay at a later time. You don’t not need ID nor to prove your income. Just be one of the 20 clients for the day.

If you need surgery such as wisdom teeth, you will be on put on a waiting list for a few months but you will save hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

It is called the Oral Clinic of Green Lane Hospital.

Their prices are very reasonable.

X _Ray: $25.00

    Hey Julie,

thanks for the good advice coz you can really pay a fortune on your teeth. Would be good if you can still tell us the name of the organisation next to Hendersons Court House… just to have one more options.

    Of course, Bianka,

You mean the Maori Trust Waiparera doctors. I shall phone them to get information correctly. Thanx for your reply.

I’ve called the dentists listed above, but can’t get under $100+ for a filling. Also, the Sylvia Park listing and Manukau listing are answered by the same receptionist, and the Otahuhu listing has a disconnected phone. Have I mis-understood something here ?

  8. Julie says:

Hi Roy, What you write sounds strange.

Have you phoned Albany and Henderson also?

Did they ask if you had a community service card maybe?
